Features & Benefits of Tata AIG MediPlus:

Entry Age	91 days to 65 years. If dependent children are to be covered they must be between the ages of 91 days and 21 years and unmarried.
Basis	Individual and family floater health insurance plan
Policy Period	1 year or 2 years
Renewability	Lifelong
Sum Insured	Rs. 5 lakhs
Discounts	You can get a 10% discount if you insure 2 or more family members. If you pay the premium for 2 years then you get a 7.5% discount.
Coverage	This policy will cover in-patient charges like room rent, ICU charges and nursing expenses. Cost of medicines and consumables will also be covered. Expenses borne for 6o days preceding hospitalization and 90 days after hospitalization will be covered. The policy provides cover for over 140-day care procedures where the hospitalization is under 24 hours. Cover is provided for domiciliary treatment required due to medical conditions or unavailability of beds at the hospital. Ambulance charges up to Rs. 2,000 will also be covered. Dental treatments, if necessitated by an accident or illness, will be covered. Pre-existing conditions will be covered after a waiting period of 4 years. Other specified illnesses will be covered after a waiting period of 2 years. Medical expenses incurred by you for organ donation will be covered along with expenses for harvesting the organ from the donor.
Benefits	The policy offers tax benefits under section 80D of the IT Act for premiums paid. You can avail cashless treatment at over 3,000 network hospitals across India with this policy. If your children are between the ages of 91 days and 21 years and are unmarried then they too can be covered under this policy.
Exclusions	Injuries or sickness caused by wars, rebellions, invasions etc. will not be covered. Injuries acquired while indulging in illegal activities or attempted suicide will not be covered. STDs, HIV/AIDS, venereal disease, etc. will also not be covered. Mental illnesses, Parkinson’s, Alzheimer’s disease and congenital diseases won’t be covered. Pregnancy and childbirth will not be covered under this policy unless it results in ectopic pregnancy. General dental treatments will not be covered by the policy. Cosmetic surgery that is not required as a result of an injury or illness won’t be covered. Experimental treatment or non-allopathic treatment will also not be covered. Artificial limbs, hearing aids, spectacles, etc. will also not be covered by the policy.
