How to Login Unified UAN Portal

The UAN is a 12-digit number that is assigned to every subscriber of the EPF scheme. In order to generate the UAN number, the employee has to firstly be registered with the EPFO and has to be making regular monthly contributions towards the scheme.

Steps to change mobile number on UAN Portal

For subscribers that wish to change their mobile number on the UAN portal, they can follow the steps mentioned below:

  • Visit the UAN portal.
  • Click on the “manage tool” on the UAN portal homepage.
  • Click on “contact details” from the drop-down menu.
  • Click on “change mobile number”.
  • Enter your new mobile number.
  • Re-enter your new mobile number.
  • Click on “get authorization PIN”.
  • Enter the OTP sent to your new mobile number.
  • Click on “save changes” to register your new mobile number.

Steps to Change EPF Mobile Number If forgot Password

If a subscriber has changed his/her mobile number and has forgotten their password, they can follow the steps mentioned below to change the mobile number and their password.

  • Visit the UAN portal.
  • Enter your UAN number and click on “forgot password”.
  • Re-enter your UAN number and enter the captcha.
  • Your existing mobile number will be displayed, if you wish to change it, click on “no” for the question if you want to confirm the mobile number.
  • Click on “verify” document number on the page that displays your name, gender, date of birth, KYC details, etc.
  • Enter the new mobile number.
  • Click on the “get authorization PIN” tab.
  • Once this is done, your new mobile number will be registered in the UAN database.

Other Ways to Change EPF Mobile Number

For EPF subscribers that have no access to the internet, they can opt for the offline mode to change their EPF registered mobile number. For this to happen, the subscriber will have to fill in a form with the mobile number change and submit it to one’s employer. The employer will then forward the form to the regional PF office for approval. The verification and approval process will take around 15 working days. Once the mobile number has been changed, the subscriber will receive a notification message from the EPFO that his/her mobile number has been changed.

Check UAN Status on EPFO Member Portal

If your UAN is yet to be generated, you can follow the steps mentioned below:

  • Visit the EPFO member portal.
  • Next, enter your region code, PF office jurisdiction code, establishment code and your PF number. These details too will be displayed on your payslip.
  • Click on “check status” button. If the site displays that your UAN is activated, then you can go ahead with any PF process, if not, you will need to first generate and then activate your UAN.

How to Generate UAN on EPFO Member Portal

Follow the steps to generate UAN:

  • Visit the EPFO website
  • Click on “our services”
  • Choose “for employees”.
  • Click on the “register or activate UAN” link.
  • Fill in your KYC details – name, mobile number, passport number, bank account number, Aadhaar card number, etc.
  • Upload a scanned copy of your signature and passport photograph.
  • Once you click on “submit”, an authorization PIN will be sent to your registered mobile number. Enter the PIN.
  • Once the PIN has been entered, your UAN will be generated. The next step is to activate your UAN.

Steps to Activate UAN

For subscribers new to the EPFO member portal, they can follow the steps mentioned below to activate their UAN.

  • Visit the EPFO services link – http://uanmembers.epfoservices.in/uan_reg_form.php
  • Click on the “service tab”.
  • Choose the “for employees” option.
  • Click on “UAN activation”.
  • Enter your registered mobile number, PF details, and UAN once the page is displayed.
  • Enter details such as father’s name, date of birth, etc.
  • Enter your authorization PIN.
  • Click on “activate UAN”.
  • Create a username and password to complete the process.

Documents required to register UAN

For subscribers that wish to generate their UAN, they would be required to upload any of the listed KYC documents mentioned below along with their bank details.

  • Bank details – account number, IFSC code, branch name.
  • Passport
  • Aadhaar card
  • PAN card
  • Ration card
  • Driver’s license
  • ESIC card

Documents required to link PF Account with UAN

Subscribers will have to submit the following documents based on whether they have a UAN or not.

Documents required if the subscriber has a UAN:

  • Regular KYC documents.
  • Bank details – account number, IFSC code, branch name.
  • UAN held with previous employer/company.
  • Last working day in previous company.

Documents required if the subscriber does not have a UAN:

  • Regular KYC documents.
  • Bank details – account number, IFSC code, branch name.
  • PF account number held with a previous company.
  • Last working day in previous company.

How to download UAN Card

Follow the steps mentioned below:

  • Visit the EPFO member portal and login using your username and password.
  • Scroll down and click on “download UAN card” on the download menu.
  • Click “download”.
  • Save and print your UAN card.

How to register UAN by linking Aadhaar Card

Subscribers can self-generate their UAN using their Aadhaar card. To do so, they should follow the steps mentioned below:

  • Visit the EPFO member portal.
  • Click on “Online Aadhaar Verified UAN Allotment”
  • Enter your Aadhaar card number.
  • Click on “generate OTP”.
  • Enter the OTP received on your registered mobile number and click on “submit”.
  • The page will then display the Aadhaar card details.
  • Click on “register”.
  • Once that is done, the UAN will be allotted.

Steps to transfer PF Balance using UAN

To initiate the process of transferring their PF balance using UAN, subscribers have to follow the steps mentioned below:

  • Submit the Composite Form 11 that includes vital details and along with that submit your personal details, PF number held with a previous employer, UAN, etc.
  • Ensure that your UAN is generated and activated and that your Aadhaar card details are integrated to your UAN account.
  • If your UAN is seeded with your Aadhaar card details, as soon as your current employer enters the details, the process of auto-transfer will be initiated.
  • As soon as the auto-transfer process has been initiated, the subscriber will receive a message on his/her registered mobile number.
  • The process completed within 10 days and when the first PF contribution of the new employer has been made.
  • The subscriber will receive a message as soon as the PF fund has been deposited.

Other ways to make Auto PF Transfer :

If the subscriber has not seeded his/her Aadhaar card with the UAN online, they can carry out the process of auto-transfer offline. To do this, the employee needs to submit Form 13 to the new employer and furnish details of one’s Aadhaar card. Once the Aadhaar card has been seeded to the UAN of the employee, he/she can initiate the process of transferring funds from one’s past PF account to the current PF account.

Merge Multiple PF Accounts using UAN

Now, instead of closing a PF account every time one shift jobs, subscribers to the EPFO can merge multiple PF accounts using their UAN and manage all accounts as one. For those who wish to merge multiple PF accounts using their UAN, they can follow the steps mentioned below. Subscribers will have to ensure that they have the below-listed conditions in place before getting to the process of merging their accounts.

Requirements to Merge Multiple PF Accounts using UAN:

  • The subscriber’s UAN will have to be active.
  • The subscriber’s UAN will have to be linked to their EPF account.
  • The KYC documents of the subscriber will have to have been verified by their employer.

Steps to Merge Multiple PF Accounts using UAN:

  • Visit the EPFO member portal.
  • Click on “our services “ tab.
  • Choose the “for employee” option from the drop-down menu.
  • Click on the “One Employee – One EPF Account” option.
  • Enter your registered mobile number, 12-digit UAN number and current member ID.
  • Enter the PF number you wish to merge.
  • Click on “submit”.
  • Click on “merge”.
