How do I get the URN number for my Aadhar card?

The URN (Update Request Number) is something you get when you apply for updates or changes to your Aadhaar Card.

To make the updates online, you need to visit the site below:

https://resident.uidai.gov.in/check-aadhaar-status

Enter your Aadhaar number and the text verification code. The OTP will be sent to your registered mobile number (number provided at the time of application).

Once you enter the OTP, you will be lead to the next page – Data Update Request.

Choose the details you wish to change – online, you can change name, DOB, gender, Address, mobile number and email ID. Once you select what you have to change, you will asked to mention the new details.

You will have to upload scanned copies of supporting documents.

Once you finish the process, you will receive the URN. This is used to check the status of your updated Aadhar details. You can check the status here:
