A credit card PIN is a 4-digit personal identification number of the card user. When making a transaction online or at a merchant shop, the user has to enter the 4-digit PIN. As soon as the credit PIN is entered by the credit card owner, the system matches the user ID and the PIN before allowing the customer to make a transaction. The credit card PIN is basically a security measure and at no point should be shared with anyone, in other words, it should be non-confidential. The credit card PIN is the last step of a transaction. If the user ID of the customer and the credit card PIN match, the transaction is approved.
