HDFC Bank offers an array of credit cards to its customers that have been specially designed for their varied financial needs. These cards come with a credit limit which can be loosely defined as the maximum amount of credit that the bank extends to the cardholder through a line of credit. How to Increase Credit Limit on HDFC Credit Card?
HDFC credit card limit can be increased by availing the bank’s ‘Limit Enhancement’ feature, which is available for its existing credit card users. However, only eligible customers can avail the feature based on the bank’s terms and policies.
Besides limit enhancement, HDFC also offers ‘Card Upgrade’ through which users can upgrade their card to a next level card with more features along with enhancing their credit limit.
HDFC Approaches You: Limit allotted on credit cards are periodically revised by the bank based on the customer’s usage and payment patterns. If your existing HDFC credit card becomes eligible for either limit enhancement or card upgrade, you’re likely to receive a call or an SMS/email from the bank.
Apply Through Net Banking: In case, you haven’t received any such call after using the card for 6-12 months, you can check your hdfc credit card net banking account in which your credit card is registered. Login to your account, click on the ‘credit card’ tab and choose ‘card upgrade with enhancement’ from the left side menu.
Call Customer Care: If you don’t have a net banking account, you can still request for credit limit increase or card upgrade by contacting HDFC phone banking officers. Credit card related queries and requests will be answered at 1800-266-4332, 24 hours on all days.
Write to HDFC: In case, you receive a reply saying your card is not eligible for limit enhancement based on the bank records, your chances of getting eligible for limit enhancement are still there, if you have recently got any increase in your income or if there is any difference in your income from the time you have applied for existing credit card.
Send a duly signed letter requesting increase on your existing credit limit, along with income proofs to the HDFC cards division. If you’re a salaried employee, you need to attach a self-attested copy of your recent salary slip and an office ID card. For self-employed, copy of latest income tax returns and Pan card along with computation of income should be submitted.
